ACPJ Philosophy of Action
In the conduct of its mission, ACPJ is committed to a philosophy of active nonviolence, which may at times lead to public acts of resistance such as demonstrations and civil disobedience.
In the tradition of active non-violence stalwarts such as Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., and Nelson Mandela, this at all times requires respect for opponents; abstention from the use of violence, verbal and physical, toward any persons, and avoiding damage to any property; not carrying or using alcohol, drugs or a weapon, and acceptance of consequences for actions taken.
It is expected that persons participating in an ACPJ event will abide by the above principles. Persons participating in any civil disobedience shall undergo training in active nonviolence.
